Swords & Sworcery and Human Beings

Posted

As a company whose reason-to-be is to create fantastic sound & music, it is important that we recognise some of the folk around the world who are doing highly exceptional work. From an audio perspective, Swords & Sworcery – a tactile adventure game for the iPad and iPhone – is a work of art.

We are a little late to the party on this one, but after finally getting the time to play and complete the game we recognise it is an important landmark for anyone interested in game sound or interactive sound. What is apparent is how more immersive an experience can be when sound & music are built alongside each other and how they both can play different roles in interaction. Here is a very enjoyable and spoiler-laden clip of the game in action, but I would urge all iPad and iPhone owners with a love of sound to try the game for themselves.

In other news, we were very excited to hear that Jonathan Entwistle’s short film Human Beings, which we supervised and sound designed, was exclusively released and promoted by Vimeo. It has currently had almost 35,000 views and is an excellent piece of work. There have also been some lovely comments regarding the sound, which made us very happy. Why not watch it yourself?
